Grindr posts higher revenue as it ramps AI companion feature
Revenue rose to $138.0 million in the second quarter, and Grindr raised full-year guidance as paying users increased 16% to 1.4 million.
Grindr reported second-quarter results alongside an AI push, with CEO George Arison saying the dating platform is effectively AI-native, with artificial intelligence integrated throughout what it builds. The company also highlighted a new AI companion feature priced at as much as $350 per month.
According to the earnings materials, Grindr said revenue reached $138.0 million, up 33.0% year over year, beating Wall Street expectations of about $132.0 million. Paying users grew 16.0% to 1.4 million, while average revenue per paying user rose to $26.51, as the company aimed to show engagement and spend are strengthening rather than relying only on price changes.
The company told investors it expects higher performance into 2026, raising full-year guidance to about $540.0 million in revenue, up from $535.0 million, and adjusted EBITDA of about $232.0 million. Grindr also pointed to a first-quarter partnership with Madonna as part of its broader reach.
Still, the quarter included a profitability miss, with GAAP earnings of $0.10 per share versus analyst expectations of about $0.14 per share, according to Yahoo Finance. The outlet noted that the stock response can be sensitive when revenue is strong but earnings fall short.
