WisdomTree’s Quantum Computing ETF shows signs of a potential trough
The WisdomTree Quantum Computing Fund launched in October 2025 and has swung between gains of 20% to 80% and drawdowns of 15% to 30% within weeks, according to Yahoo Finance.
WisdomTree Quantum Computing Fund (WQTM) debuted in October 2025 and, while it is not the first quantum computing ETF, Yahoo Finance says it stands out as a snapshot of how quantum stocks may be positioned. The article notes the fund is still more than 10% above its initial price despite sharp swings.
Yahoo Finance describes a volatile trading pattern since launch, citing moves of 20% to 80% higher followed by drawdowns of 15% to 30% that can unfold within weeks. It also points to the fund’s percentage price oscillator and the 20-day moving average as indicators that the price could be near a trough.
The fund is rules-based, using an index co-developed with quantum software firm Classiq. Yahoo Finance says WQTM combines pure-play quantum hardware and software developers with large-cap technology enablers in its top holdings.
The article frames a sustained upside case around commercialization via Quantum-as-a-Service, where customers rent quantum processing time over the cloud. It also links momentum to integration into platforms run by Microsoft Azure Quantum, Amazon AWS Braket, and IBM, while noting national defense and cybersecurity initiatives and post-quantum cryptography mandates as potential drivers.
