Aecom shares fall after earnings miss and unprofitable quarter
The engineering firm posted a $0.50 per-share loss versus the $1.51 estimate, despite revenue of $3.6 billion.
Aecom (NYSE: ACM) shares dropped 5.5% in early trading after the company reported results that missed analysts expectations, according to Yahoo Finance. The stock move came after Aecom posted a fiscal Q3 2026 loss of $0.50 per share, compared with the $1.51 per share forecast heading into the report.
Revenue totaled $3.6 billion in the quarter, and was about 80% higher than what Wall Street expected, the outlet said. Still, the company’s revenue represented a 14% year-over-year decline, while operating earnings were negative and non-GAAP results reflected the per-share loss.
Aecom also reported GAAP net loss of $0.65 per share. The firm generated positive free cash flow of $55 million, but this was 79% lower than a year earlier, highlighting weakness alongside the earnings miss.
Yahoo Finance added that Aecom linked the quarter’s charges to a contract signed in 2019, tied to terms it said would not be acceptable under changes to its risk policies after several years. Management said it is targeting $300 million in free cash flow this year, though the outlet noted this outlook comes after the damage from the earlier contract terms.
