Nvidia seeks to make AI compute a bankable infrastructure asset with banks

Nvidia says financing platforms tied to its AI infrastructure could tap more than $500 billion of third-party capital, using GPUs as long-lived, revenue-generating assets.

Nvidia is pushing to treat AI compute, powered largely by its GPUs in “AI factories,” as an investable infrastructure asset rather than a short-lived technology expense, according to CoinDesk.

The Nasdaq-listed chipmaker said it has signed memorandums of understanding with six Wall Street firms, including Apollo Global Management, Blackstone, BlackRock, Brookfield Asset Management, Goldman Sachs, and KKR, to set up financing platforms.

Nvidia said the platforms could eventually tap more than $500 billion in third-party capital and are designed to encourage customers to build AI data centers and lock in demand for Nvidia hardware.

CoinDesk notes that Nvidia framed the move as a new asset class for technology chips and described AI compute as the raw processing power used to train and run AI models, emphasizing its “AI factories” approach.
