RBA keeps cash rate at 4.35% and signals data-dependent next move
The RBA said it will remain on hold but could raise rates if upside risks to inflation emerge.
The Reserve Bank of Australia kept the cash rate unchanged at 4.35% at its August meeting, according to Action Forex.
The bank framed its decision as consistent with an extended period on hold, while also indicating it would tighten policy if upside risks to inflation materialize, Action Forex added.
In its commentary, Action Forex noted the RBA acknowledged that incoming data had shifted away from the hawkish narrative it had previously suggested.
