Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund cites PANW demand momentum

The fund returned 26.9% net in Q2 2026, and its investor letter highlighted Palo Alto Networks after the firm’s fiscal third-quarter results signaled robust cybersecurity demand.

Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund said AI infrastructure and broader market strength helped drive performance in the second quarter of 2026, posting a 26.9% net return, according to an investor letter released by the firm, as global equities rebounded and investor enthusiasm for AI-related infrastructure continued.

In the fund’s discussion of individual contributors, it pointed to Palo Alto Networks as a leading contributor during the quarter. The letter attributes the move to strong results and continued investor confidence in cybersecurity demand, with demand described as robust following Palo Alto Networks’ fiscal third-quarter results.

Palo Alto Networks provides cybersecurity solutions in the Americas and internationally. On August 7, 2026, the stock closed at $363.86 per share, after gaining 116.36% over the past 52 weeks.

The letter also noted the fund’s positioning, saying concentrated exposure to mega-cap chip designers and manufacturers weighed on relative performance as leadership broadened into CPUs, networking, and memory, while vertical software, internet, and financial holdings were modest detractors amid macro concerns and uncertainty over AI disruption.
