SEC to meet on crypto regulation without congressional action
The SEC said it will hold a meeting this week that could set the stage for broader digital asset policy work even if Congress does not pass additional clarity.
Cointelegraph reports the US Securities and Exchange Commission has scheduled a meeting this week focused on how to address crypto regulation in the absence of any new clarity from Congress.
The outlet says the meeting could be used to step up the SEC’s approach to digital asset policies even without congressional action.
In the meantime, regulators continue to grapple with how existing securities and market rules apply to cryptocurrencies and related products.
