Spritehood NFT mint on Robinhood Chain sells out in under an hour
An onchain tally put mint proceeds at about $1.28 million, with the paid sale running 53 minutes and 48 seconds and 44,444 tokens sold.
Pudgy Penguins co-founder Cole Villemain, who was voted out in January 2022, sold out a 44,444-piece NFT collection called Spritehood on Robinhood Chain in under an hour on Tuesday, taking in roughly $1.28 million based on an onchain tally of the mint transactions, The Defiant reported. Villemain, posting as ColeThereum, opened the Spritehood public mint at 2:18 a.m. ET on Aug. 11 and said 57 minutes later that the collection was finished. The mint started with a paid sale that began at 06:17 UTC, according to an onchain analysis cited in the story. That analysis from X account 0xlaplaced said the paid sale lasted 53 minutes and 48 seconds, selling 37,430 tokens at $17 and 5,526 tokens at $117, matching a $100 upgrade offered on the mint site. It also said the contract deployer issued 1,488 tokens for free across 20 zero-price transactions before the paid sale opened. The Defiant also noted that buyers lacked verified contract source code, because the Robinhood Chain Blockscout explorer lists the Spritehood Wisp ERC-721 token, symbol WISP, as having unverified source code. The article further said the $755,000 and $775,000 totals that circulated on X were snapshots taken while the mint was still running, and that the tally comes from a single independent analyst rather than the project or a verified contract.
