Extell’s 50 W 66th St luxury condo targets buyers with resort amenities

Homes range from two to six bedrooms, priced from $8 million to $85 million, with residents starting to move in last year and some units still finishing.

Commercial Observer takes a look at Extell’s 50 West 66th Street, a 70-story condominium designed with a hospitality-style focus aimed at luxury buyers.

The building includes two sections, with 84 units in the house portion and 37 units in the tower. Residents began moving in last year, and the property is still completing finishing touches, with some units requiring completion.

Amenities highlighted by the outlet include a bowling alley, gym, game room, lounge, two children’s playrooms, and two pools. Homes are described as ranging from two to six bedrooms and priced from $8 million to $85 million.

Douglas Elliman’s Janice Chang said many buyers initially purchased based on renderings and floor plans, and that sales of apartments sight unseen were driven by the possibilities presented by the designs.

Chang also pointed to the tower’s panoramic views, describing a sweep from the Hudson River to Central Park South, along with features in the units such as white marble kitchens with Miele appliances, heated bathroom floors, and other luxury finishes.
