Mama’s Creations stock jumps after management spending delays revenue timing
The company’s gross margin fell to 23.6% from 26.1% year over year, linked to about $1 million of startup costs tied to new product launches.
Mama’s Creations, Inc. closed at $17.67 per share on August 10, 2026, and the stock was down 5.15% over one month while up 112.12% over the past 52 weeks, according to a Yahoo Finance write-up of an Immersion Investment Partners investor letter.
Immersion Investment Partners said investors had reacted to a headline financial figure in the first quarter without fully accounting for management’s explanation of underlying business timing. The firm pointed to higher spending at Mama’s to support orders for new products launching at Walmart, noting that much of the revenue needed to offset those expenses was not expected to show up until the second quarter.
The letter also highlighted margin pressure, saying Mama’s gross margin declined to 23.6% from 26.1% in the prior year period. It attributed the decline to roughly $1 million of startup costs associated with the new product launches and cited reclassification as part of the explanation.
In the same discussion, Immersion Investment Partners described its own second-quarter performance, saying the firm returned 39.1% and outpaced the Russell 2000 Index’s 21.5% gain, while capitalizing on market selloffs that it said were driven by macro factors not tied to company fundamentals.
