Many landbuyers say internet access would not change their plans

In an informal audience poll, 37% said high-speed internet is preferred but would not affect where they buy land, while 41% said it is a must-have.

LandThink’s LANDTHINK Pulse asked its audience whether the availability of high-speed internet would influence their decision about where to buy land, and an informal online survey found that 37% of respondents said it would not change their plans despite preferring better connectivity.

The survey also showed that 41% of respondents consider high-speed internet a must-have when buying land, while 22% said they were not concerned about internet access at all when making a purchase decision.

LandThink noted that while broadband can be overlooked, it can affect resale value and practical uses for rural properties, including remote work, home-schooling, security cameras, map access, and streaming.

The outlet added that internet connectivity matters more in rural areas where buyers cannot assume service is available nearby, but it is less of a strict deterrent than in the past due to satellite and cellular alternatives.
