Slovenia adds Dinaro to EU MiCA stablecoin issuer register
Slovenia-based electronic money institution Dinaro joined the EMT list as ESMA’s latest register update also added two new authorized crypto-asset service providers and removed one previously listed CASP.
Slovenia has made its first appearance in the European Union’s MiCA register of electronic money token issuers, through electronic money institution Dinaro, according to Cointelegraph. The update was published in the latest European Securities and Markets Authority, or ESMA, register update on Wednesday.
Dinaro is supervised by the Bank of Slovenia, and the company says it provides payment services including card issuing and acquiring. Cointelegraph also notes that Dinaro holds Mastercard principal membership, and its addition brought the EMT register to 43 entries.
ESMA’s same register update also changed the EU list of authorized crypto-asset service providers, or CASPs, which now totals 325 companies. Cointelegraph reports that the update added Czech lender Partners Banka and Germany’s Volksbank Beilstein-Ilsfeld-Abstatt.
The update also removed Czech company Altlift from the MiCA CASP register, where it had first appeared in early July with authorization dated June 30. Cointelegraph adds that the asset-referenced token register remained empty, while the non-compliant entity list was unchanged at 167.
