$158 million Mount Vernon workforce housing project nears completion

The 228-unit development includes two towers, with the first expected to finish later this year and the second within a few months, and has financing support from New York State programs and Westchester County funds.

City, county and state officials marked the topping off of QWest Towers, a workforce housing development in Mount Vernon, New York that is nearing completion.

The project, located at 1 and 25 North MacQuesten Pkwy., is being developed by QWest Towers LLC, a joint venture between Simone Development Companies and Stagg Group, in collaboration with Rev. Dr. L’Judie Matt-Simmons.

QWest Towers consists of 228 units across a 15-story tower and a 12-story tower. The first tower is scheduled to be completed later this year, with the second to follow within a few months.

Construction financing includes support from New York State Housing and Community Renewal, Westchester County’s New Homes Land Acquisition program and the county’s Housing Flex Fund, and the project also received financial incentives from the Mount Vernon Industrial Development Agency, according to ConnectCRE.
