B2C2 appoints former Schroders wealth executive as senior adviser in Singapore
The appointment supports B2C2’s push to deepen ties with family offices, funds, and asset managers across Asia-Pacific as onchain activity in the region rose 69% year through June 2025.
B2C2, an institutional crypto liquidity provider, has appointed Jason Lai, the former chairman of Schroders Wealth Management Asia, as a senior adviser in Singapore, according to CoinDesk. Lai joins as B2C2 seeks to expand its APAC ties with family offices and asset managers, after a period of growth in institutional interest in cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. CoinDesk notes that Lai is a veteran of Asia’s private wealth industry and founded Thirdrock Group in 2009, which Schroders acquired in 2019. He later served as CEO of Schroders’ Asian wealth management unit and then chairman, before retiring from Schroders in 2026.
B2C2 says it provides round-the-clock liquidity and execution across spot, derivatives, structured products, and over-the-counter markets, using proprietary trading technology. CoinDesk also reports that B2C2 is backed by parent SBI Holdings and was founded in 2015. The move comes as wealth managers and family offices in Asia increase their exposure to digital assets. CoinDesk cites Chainalysis data showing APAC was the fastest-growing region for onchain activity in the year through June 2025, with transaction volume up 69% to $2.36 trillion. It also references Goldman Sachs data that globally about one-third of family offices already have exposure to cryptocurrencies.
