Kalshi seeks $750 million at $40 billion valuation in new funding talks
The talks follow a May $1 billion raise at a $22 billion valuation, and Kalshi says annualized revenue reached $4.0 billion in July.
Kalshi, the prediction market platform, is reportedly in discussions to raise a new $750 million funding round that would value the privately held company at $40 billion, according to Yahoo Finance and CoinDesk.
Media reports say Sequoia Capital and Wellington Management are considering leading the round. Sequoia is already an investor in Kalshi and has an executive on its board, while Wellington is described as looking to make its first investment in the company.
The funding talks come as Kalshi is also reportedly considering an initial public offering in 2027. Kalshi last raised $1 billion in May at a $22 billion valuation.
Kalshi has since grown to become the largest prediction market platform by revenue, and its annualized revenue increased to $4 billion in July. Sports betting accounts for more than 80% of its trading volumes, with revenue boosted by bets on the World Cup, the outlet reported.
