Norway Wealth Fund discloses $81.9M BitMine stake

The filing shows Norges Bank Investment Management held 6,151,062 BitMine shares as of June 30, providing indirect exposure to Ethereum through the company’s crypto treasury.

Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global disclosed a BitMine Immersion Technologies position valued at $81,870,635, according to a Norges Bank holdings filing for the quarter ended June 30, as reported by The Defiant.

The fund reported holding 6,151,062 BMNR shares, and the disclosure indicates the sovereign wealth fund’s Ethereum exposure is indirect, coming through BitMine’s listed equity rather than a direct ETH purchase by the fund.

The filings do not specify when the shares were acquired or the purchase price. BitMine describes itself as an Ethereum treasury and blockchain-infrastructure company, and its value is tied in part to its own ETH holdings.

Norges Bank Investment Management said the overall fund was worth 22.683 trillion kroner at June 30, with 72.1 percent invested in equities. BitMine separately said in an Aug. 10 company announcement that it held 5,805,238 ETH as of Aug. 9, and that 5,067,309 ETH was staked as of that date.
