QWest Towers nears completion on $158 million workforce housing project
The 228-unit development in Mount Vernon, New York is being built in two phases, with the first tower due to finish later this year.
City, county and state officials marked the topping off of QWest Towers, a workforce housing development nearing completion in Mount Vernon, New York. The project, valued at $158 million, is located at 1 and 25 North MacQuesten Pkwy.
QWest Towers LLC is developing the site as a joint venture between Simone Development Companies and Stagg Group, with collaboration involving Rev. Dr. L’Judie Matt-Simmons. The plan calls for 228 units across a 15-story tower and a 12-story tower.
Construction is supported by financing that includes backing from New York State Housing and Community Renewal, Westchester County’s New Homes Land Acquisition program, and the county’s Housing Flex Fund. The Mount Vernon Industrial Development Agency also provided financial incentives.
ConnectCRE said the first tower is expected to be completed later this year, followed by the second tower within a few months.
