FirstEnergy reaffirms 2026 Core EPS guidance after Q2 update

FirstEnergy reported Q2 revenue of $3.7 billion, up 8.8% year over year, but core EPS fell 3.8% to $0.50 as higher maintenance expenses weighed on Distribution.

FirstEnergy Corp., an Akron, Ohio-based utility focused on regulated electricity distribution and transmission, reaffirmed its 2026 Core EPS outlook after its FY2026 Q2 earnings release on July 28, according to Yahoo Finance.

The company reported revenue of $3.7 billion for the quarter, an 8.8% year-over-year increase. Core EPS declined 3.8% from the year-ago quarter to $0.50, with higher maintenance expenses cited as a drag on the Distribution business.

FirstEnergy said the quarter also reflected benefits from its investment strategy, including growth in its transmission rate base. Its Integrated segment transmission rate base rose 22%, and its Stand-Alone Transmission segment increased 11%, supporting earnings growth.

For 2026, FirstEnergy reiterated its Core EPS guidance of $2.62 to $2.82, and its long-term target of Core EPS growth near the top end of 6.0% to 8.0% annually through 2030. Analysts expect the company to grow EPS to $2.74 for the fiscal year ending in December, Yahoo Finance added.
