Musk says SpaceX AI revenue will surpass other lines next month
SpaceX reported $2.56 billion of quarterly sales from AI, and Musk said AI revenue could exceed other SpaceX revenue in September and the fourth quarter.
Elon Musk told SpaceX employees in a 30-minute all-hands meeting that the company’s AI revenue will overtake its other revenue streams, with AI expected to exceed all other SpaceX revenue starting in September, according to Business Insider coverage and a post on X on Aug. 11.
Musk also said AI revenue would significantly exceed other SpaceX revenue in the fourth quarter, tying the message to how SpaceX is pursuing AI alongside its other business lines. He added that he wants Grok embedded inside SpaceX, framing employees as contributors to how the system could be shaped.
In the company’s most recent quarter, AI generated $2.56 billion out of $7.81 billion in total sales, with connectivity products at $4.29 billion and space products at $962 million, as described in the Yahoo Finance summary.
Through Aug. 11, the stock closed at $133.29, up nearly 23% from $108.27 on Aug. 5, while the article notes Musk has not detailed what employee data would be used for or how it would be collected.
