Robinhood raises $200 million for a second public venture fund

The new vehicle is designed to let retail investors access exposure to privately held startups through a publicly traded structure.

Robinhood is raising $200 million for a second publicly traded venture capital fund, extending a push to give everyday investors exposure to privately held startups, The New York Times Business reports.

The platform said the additional vehicle will be another way for ordinary investors to participate in venture bets that are typically limited to institutional or accredited investors.

The effort builds on Robinhoods prior launch of a publicly traded fund structure aimed at bringing venture capital themes into retail brokerage accounts, according to the report.
