SpaceX leans into AI as Grok 4.6 rollout and compute deals reshape revenue
SpaceX said AI revenue is expected to exceed all other revenue as early as September, with AI-related sales up 248% in its latest earnings report.
SpaceX is drawing fresh investor attention as the company’s business mix shifts from commercial space to artificial intelligence, according to ETF Trends. The pivot is tied to the rollout of Grok 4.6 on August 12, plus messaging that AI will become the primary revenue driver as early as September.
ETF Trends also points to the company’s integration of xAI, acquired in February, which it says turned Grok and its software ecosystem into SpaceX’s dedicated AI division. The outlet cites a statement from Elon Musk during an August 11 company address that SpaceX’s AI revenue will exceed other revenue as early as September.
In addition, the outlet highlights AI infrastructure demand reflected in SpaceX’s results, including a 248% increase in sales from its AI segment in its latest earnings report. ETF Trends also details major compute deals, including a May agreement with Anthropic for compute capacity tied to roughly 325,000 Nvidia GPUs for $1.25 billion per month, and a June cloud services deal with Google valued at $920 million per month for use of SpaceX compute capacity.
ETF Trends further notes that, based on Motley Fool analysis, the contracts could amount to $26 billion in annual revenue in a best-case scenario, while the stock faces a period of insider share unlocks that could affect supply and demand through the rest of the year.
