Heights Advisors files plan for 606 mixed-income apartments in the Bronx
The proposed 21-story, 515,000-square-foot mixed-use building would replace a low-rise retail site that currently houses Modell’s Sporting Goods and GameStop.
Brooklyn-based Heights Advisors has filed a land use application to build 606 mixed-income apartments in the Soundview section of the Bronx, at 945 White Plains Rd., according to ConnectCRE.
The project is described as a 21-story, 515,000-square-foot mixed-use development that would replace a low-rise retail building on the site currently housing Modell’s Sporting Goods and GameStop.
ConnectCRE reports the application would trigger New York City’s mandatory Uniform Land Use Review Procedure, which includes public review before the project can move forward.
The development is being positioned as a multifamily project with a major affordable housing component, and Heights Advisors is reportedly seeking financing through the Department of Housing Preservation & Development’s New Construction Finance program for 100% affordable developments.
