Kraken parent Payward boosts revenue despite weaker spot activity

Payward revenue rose 17% in Q2 even as crypto spot trading volume fell, with funded accounts up 42% and a larger share of revenue coming from non-transaction sources, according to Cointelegraph.

Kraken parent Payward reported that its revenue increased 17% in Q2, even as crypto spot trading volume declined, Cointelegraph reports.

The outlet attributed the growth to a jump in funded accounts, which rose 42%, helping offset softness in spot trading.

Cointelegraph also said Payward’s revenue mix shifted, with a growing portion of income coming from activities outside transaction-based activity.

The update underscores how Payward’s performance in Q2 depended not only on spot volumes but also on customer account funding and other revenue streams.
