SafePal discloses breach that exposed 39,798 customers' order details

The incident exposed names, physical addresses, and contact details for customers whose orders ran from March 2, 2025 to April 11, 2026, raising phishing and impersonation risk despite no wallet-key compromise.

CoinDesk reports that crypto hardware wallet provider SafePal disclosed a security breach that exposed personal information for 39,798 customers who placed orders between March 2, 2025, and April 11, 2026.

SafePal said the exposed data included customers' names, physical addresses, and contact details, and warned that affected users face heightened phishing and impersonation attempts.

The company emphasized that no cryptocurrency funds were compromised and that private keys, seed phrases, passwords, bank details, and government IDs were not affected.

SafePal attributed the issue to an authorization flaw in a plug-in used to track customer orders, which it said likely let attackers view other customers' order information.
