Trump to meet crypto and prediction-market executives as CLARITY Act odds fade
A White House gathering on Aug. 19 comes ahead of the Senate’s next procedural step for the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, with market-implied passage odds in 2026 falling to about 19%.
President Donald Trump is expected to meet with crypto and prediction-market executives at the White House next week, as the industry’s top legislative push, the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, faces shrinking odds of being signed into law this year, CryptoSlate reports.
The Aug. 19 meeting is expected to include executives from Coinbase, Andreessen Horowitz, Ripple, Chainlink, Kalshi and Paradigm, along with representatives from the Digital Chamber. Invites have also been extended to executives from Kraken, Gemini, the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, and the attendance list could change, according to the outlet.
The meeting is slated for less than a month before the Senate is scheduled to take its next procedural step on the CLARITY Act, legislation intended to set federal rules for crypto markets and split oversight between the SEC and CFTC. Trump, CFTC Chair Michael Selig, and SEC Chair Paul Atkins are among those expected to participate, the report said.
Separately, Polymarket traders on Saturday placed the CLARITY Act’s probability at about 19% for it to be signed into law in 2026, down from a peak of 82% on Feb. 19. The outlet also said the bill’s earlier momentum has cooled amid disputes involving politics around the legislation, including negotiations over restrictions tied to senior government officials, stablecoin rewards, protections against illicit finance, and an ethics dispute related to Trump’s crypto ventures.
