ABIR appoints Elizabeth Breeze as new Treasurer
The Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers also named CFOs from Convex Re and PartnerRe to its Finance Committee.
The Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers, ABIR, has appointed Elizabeth Breeze as its new Treasurer. Breeze currently serves as Head of Hiscox Capital Partners and joined Hiscox in 2012, later taking on the Head of Hiscox Capital Partners role in 2025.
Breeze brings more than two decades of experience across capital markets, insurance, and reinsurance, along with senior financial and strategic leadership. Before her current role, she served as Chief Financial Officer of Hiscox Re.
ABIR also changed its Finance Committee membership, appointing Kierra Smith, Chief Financial Officer of Convex Re Ltd., Haynes Finney, Bermuda CFO at PartnerRe, and John Huff, President and CEO of ABIR, as new committee members.
The appointments follow the retirement of Paul Konyecsni from Axis and his stepping down as ABIR Treasurer. ABIR Chair Mark Cloutier said the organization remains well-capitalized and highlighted the committee’s role in supporting ABIR’s work on financial and industry matters affecting Bermuda’s insurance and reinsurance market.
