Fake downloads of new blockbuster spread crypto-stealing Lumma malware

Bitdefender says the malware can target crypto wallets, passwords, and browser sessions on infected machines.

Security firm Bitdefender says fake downloads tied to newly released blockbuster film copies are spreading Lumma Stealer, a malware program designed to steal crypto-related credentials.

According to Decrypt, the scam downloads have begun circulating and infecting devices, where Lumma Stealer can scrape users crypto wallets, passwords, and active browser sessions.

The report warns that when victims click through these fraudulent downloads, the malware can capture sensitive access data that may then be used to compromise crypto accounts.
