Iran sets a few week deadline for full implementation of the MOU
The comments highlighted a shift toward a more aggressive posture, while oil was trading higher with WTI last up $0.83 to $83.02.
Iran has set a deadline of a few weeks for full implementation of a memorandum of understanding, with a senior Iranian official describing the timeline in remarks cited by Reuters, according to Forexlive.
The official also said Iran has decided to shift policy from a defensive stance to a fully offensive one, and argued that pressuring the United States or relying on mediators to reach lasting peace is not realistic.
Forexlive also noted continuing political and military risk language around the region, and pointed to oil market sensitivity, stating that WTI was last up $0.83 to $83.02.
