Synchrony expects 6 to 12 months to fully integrate payments in ChatGPT

Synchrony told CNBC it is working toward enabling credit card payments in ChatGPT shopping, but full integration is not expected until later this year or 2026.

Synchrony, the credit card issuer used by Amazon and Walmart, is partnering with OpenAI to bring shopping payments into ChatGPT, according to CNBC Markets and CNBC Finance.

Maran Nalluswami, Synchrony's chief strategy officer, said the payments integration will likely take six to 12 months to complete.

The timeline suggests Synchrony's ChatGPT shopping payment capability will roll out gradually rather than immediately, as the company works to fully connect payment processing into the experience.
