Kraken expands EEA access to US-listed stock trading via tokenized xStocks
The exchange said eligible EEA customers can trade more than 7,000 US-listed stocks commission-free, alongside hundreds of crypto assets and xStocks.
Kraken has launched trading in more than 7,000 US-listed stocks for customers in the European Economic Area, expanding its traditional brokerage offering alongside cryptocurrencies and tokenized equities, according to Cointelegraph.
The service, available through Kraken Pro and the mobile app, is offered under the company’s Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II authorization, and it lets eligible users trade conventional US shares alongside more than 700 tokenized xStocks.
Kraken said the setup supports holding conventional shares and tokenized representations of the same assets within a single platform. It also noted that xStocks are tokenized versions of publicly listed equities.
Cointelegraph reports that Kraken’s Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II rollout includes commission-free stock trading for eligible customers, subject to applicable conditions, and the firm plans to extend its integrated equities offering to additional markets.
Kraken launched xStocks in 2025, and Cointelegraph said the product has generated more than $38 billion in total transaction volume. The outlet also cited Token Terminal data showing xStocks is the second-largest tokenized stock issuer by market capitalization, at about $609 million, behind Ondo Finance at about $974 million, with Binance’s bStocks at about $544 million.
