Australia wage growth slows as Wage Price Index rises 0.8%
Australia’s Wage Price Index increased 0.8% in Q1 2026, with private-sector wages easing to a 3.2% annual pace.

The outlet said private-sector wage growth slowed to the weakest annual pace of the cycle at 3.2%, while public-sector gains also cooled.
Forexlive added that Q2 is expected to look similar, with changes from the minimum wage increase likely to feed through later, potentially affecting Q3.
