Bezos says his focus is split between Amazon and Blue Origin
Bezos, who stepped down as Amazon CEO in 2021, described spending about 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in meetings and reading documents while balancing rocket work and Amazon.
Jeff Bezos pushed back on the idea that he has fully shifted his attention to space, saying he still has a major stake in Amazon and continues to spend significant time with the company, according to Yahoo Finance.
Speaking at The New York Times DealBook Summit, Bezos said the remark about putting “all my eggs in the space basket” was not accurate because he keeps “a huge investment in Amazon,” and he added that he has “never worked harder,” even though he is no longer Amazon CEO.
Bezos described a demanding daily routine, waking up each morning and spending much of the day in meetings from roughly 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by reading documents.
The outlet also noted that since the 2024 interview, Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket reached orbit, completed a booster landing and its first booster reuse, before a major setback during a May 2026 test.
