California AG says Meta case seeks restitution, not major damages
CNBC reports that California Attorney General Rob Bonta said the state’s case against Meta is focused on restitution and what he described as distortion, rather than a trial aimed at extracting large damages.
Bonta’s comments came after opening arguments in the case, according to CNBC, and framed the proceeding as centered on corrective relief rather than maximizing payout amounts.
