Jewelers Mutual CEO Scott Murphy to retire end-2026
The insurer will transition to Mike Alexander as president and CEO on January 1, 2027, after Murphy’s 12 years leading the company.
Jewelers Mutual said Chief Executive Officer Scott Murphy will retire at the end of 2026 after 12 years in the role, during which the company expanded beyond a specialty insurer into a broader platform of insurance and non-insurance businesses built around technology and data analytics, according to Coverager.
Starting January 1, 2027, Mike Alexander, currently the company’s president, will succeed Murphy as president and CEO. Murphy will continue to serve on Jewelers Mutual’s board of directors, the outlet reported.
Coverager said Murphy joined Jewelers Mutual as CEO in January 2015, and the company now serves more than two million customers across the United States and Canada. The insurer has also expanded into Australia through the acquisition of Jewellers Loop, which Alexander supported as part of the integration.
As CEO, Coverager reported that Alexander will focus on accelerating expansion into new markets, deepening digital and technology capabilities, and broadening its portfolio of solutions for jewelers and consumers.
