Mortgage demand stayed flat as rates stopped moving lower
Mortgage rates were unchanged last week, and mortgage demand also held steady, according to CNBC Real Estate. Total mortgage volume remains lower than year-ago levels.
The report also notes that while rates had been moving sideways, they are now shifting higher again, after a period in which the direction of mortgage rates had been stabilizing.
