Thermo Fisher falls short as analysts debate mixed fundamentals

Analysts project Thermo Fisher EPS of $25.12 for 2026, and J.P. Morgan raised its price target to $690 while citing a Buy rating.

Yahoo Finance highlighted Thermo Fisher Scientific’s stock performance relative to the broader market and its healthcare ETF, noting the company has slightly lagged the S&P 500 over the past year.

The article says Thermo Fisher shares rose 20.3% over the past 12 months versus a 20.4% S&P 500 gain, while 2026 performance has been weaker at nearly 1.5% growth compared with the S&P 500’s 13.7% gain; it also points out the State Street Healthcare Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) gained 22.4% over the past year and 7.7% in 2026.

On fundamentals, the outlet described Thermo Fisher as a “stock to be skeptical of” due to what it calls mixed fundamentals, including an absence of organic revenue growth over the past two years, a declining operating margin over five years, and EPS falling by 1.4% annually over the last five years alongside revenue growth.

For estimates and analyst views, Yahoo Finance reported expectations for diluted EPS to rise 9.8% to $25.12 for the year ending in December, and it added that the company topped the consensus estimate in each of the last four quarters. It also cited J.P. Morgan analyst Casey Woodring, who maintained a Buy rating and raised the price target to $690, while listing a mean target of $635.08 and a Street-high target of $750.
