Trump aide Natalie Harp draws scrutiny amid clash with Jon Ossoff

The controversy grew after reports that Harp was among a small group on a secret flight out of Turkey, while other senior personnel reportedly took a separate plane due to Iranian threats.

A close aide to Donald Trump, Natalie Harp, has been thrust into the spotlight amid an escalating clash between the White House and Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff.

Harp, a 35-year-old executive assistant to the president, is described as a frequent presence at Trump’s side in the White House and on weekend trips to his golf properties. She is also portrayed as a gatekeeper who curates the news and messages Trump reads.

The attention intensified after reporting said Harp was among a limited group who accompanied Trump on a secret flight out of Turkey last month, with cabinet secretaries, senior advisers, military personnel, and journalists reportedly left on another plane due to unspecified Iranian threats.

Ossoff, who is running for re-election in November and is considered a potential 2028 Democratic presidential contender, criticized the president at a rally, arguing Trump should prioritize his role as commander-in-chief instead of travel and construction projects while Harp accompanies him.
