Aristotle Small Cap Equity Fund exited Americold Realty Trust in Q2
The fund returned 13.7% in Q2 2026, trailing the Russell 2000's 21.5% gain, and it cited weaker gold prices and operational challenges among notable detractors.
Aristotle Capital Boston, LLC, the investment adviser behind the Aristotle Small Cap Equity Fund, said it exited Americold Realty Trust, Inc. in its Q2 2026 investor letter, according to Yahoo Finance.
The fund reported a 13.7% return in the second quarter of 2026, compared with the Russell 2000's 21.5% gain, saying security selection weighed on performance even as allocation effects were positive.
In the letter, the manager pointed to specific contributors and detractors, including MACOM Technology Solutions and Mercury Systems as top contributors tied to semiconductor, aerospace, and defense demand, while citing operational challenges and weaker gold prices as factors behind detractors such as Alamos Gold and investor concerns about artificial intelligence disruption.
Looking ahead, the adviser said it remains constructive on U.S. small-cap equities, adding that it expects earnings growth to accelerate into late 2026 and 2027, and that merger and acquisition activity, improving domestic manufacturing from reshoring and infrastructure investments, and a favorable regulatory environment should support the asset class longer term.
