Bonds and fuel prices show renewed link after Treasury buyback focus

Fuel prices helped drive intraday swings after the Treasury buyback announcement shifted attention earlier in the session.

Mortgage News Daily said the relationship between bond markets and fuel prices was already beginning to reassert itself after the Treasury buyback drew focus earlier in the day.

The outlet added that fuel prices then guided the ebbs and flows later in the session, and that trading activity today was returning to that regular pattern.

In the write-up, Mortgage News Daily characterized the move as a shift back to how the market has been behaving when fuel prices and bond prices move together.
