Frontier Agriculture completes Aberdeen Grain cooperative acquisition
The deal includes 65,000 tonnes of grain storage in Scotland, expanding Frontier’s grain handling network in the UK.
Frontier Agriculture has completed its acquisition of the Aberdeen Grain cooperative in Aberdeen, Scotland, a transaction the companies first announced in January, World Grain reported. The acquisition covers 65,000 tonnes of storage capacity at the Whiterashes facility.
According to information on Aberdeen Grain’s website, the cooperative began in 1984 with 32 members and 20,000 tonnes of storage, later growing to 180 members and 65,000 tonnes of storage.
Frontier said the purchase will strengthen its grain handling network in the country and provide more long-term infrastructure for growers. The company also said the deal was intended to secure access for growers and retain staff at the Whiterashes facility.
Frontier Agriculture was founded in 2005 as a joint venture between Cargill PLC and Associated British Foods, and it operates grain storage and drying facilities across Great Britain, according to its 2025 annual report.
