Wall Street slips as bond yields rebound and Walmart misses sales
The Dow fell 0.1% at the open and Walmart disappointed investors after missing a sales target, helping weigh on sentiment.
Wall Street edged lower on Thursday, with a rebound in government bond yields pressuring investor sentiment, according to LiveMint Markets and Reuters.
At the open, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 81.8 points, or 0.15%, to 53,381.22, while the S&P 500 dropped 17.5 points, or 0.23%, to 7,690.49, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 119.6 points, or 0.45%, to 26,211.52.
Reuters also noted the decline was reinforced by retail giant Walmart missing a sales target, adding to the market's cautious tone.
