CoStar completes $800M cash acquisition of Zonda
The deal, finished Aug. 21, adds Zonda’s subscription platform and homebuilder-focused data, marketplaces NewHomeSource.com and Livabl, to CoStar’s residential segment.
CoStar Group completed its $800 million cash acquisition of Zonda on Aug. 21, after announcing the deal on May 29 and receiving regulatory approvals, HousingWire reports. CoStar said the transaction expands its residential portfolio with Zonda’s data and software capabilities, along with consumer marketplaces under its NewHomeSource.com and Livabl brands.
Zonda brings information and analytics that track the new-home lifecycle from land acquisition and development planning through construction forecasting, community marketing, workflow management and sales, according to the company. Its lot-level database covers new-home communities, land activity, construction status, sales and builder operations, which supports use cases ranging from underwriting to land strategy and sales planning.
The acquisition also adds Zonda’s platform, which serves more than 3,000 customers across North America, including large homebuilders, developers, suppliers and lenders. CoStar said Zonda generated about $170 million in revenue in 2025 and posted a 23% adjusted EBITDA margin.
CoStar plans to fold Zonda into its residential segment, which reported $444 million in revenue in the second quarter of 2026, up 33% year over year. HousingWire notes CoStar characterized U.S. new-home sales as an addressable opportunity of about $400 billion annually for data, analytics, software and marketing tools tied to new construction.
