Intel and Opendoor see insider buying amid mixed fundamentals

Intel’s AI segment grew 59% and its CEO bought about $10 million of shares near a $95 level, while Opendoor’s quarterly home sales fell to 2,339 from 4,299 a year earlier.

Yahoo Finance highlights two US stocks where insider activity is drawing attention alongside sharply different operating signals. Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan bought about $10 million worth of INTC shares earlier this month at $95 a share, the same price Intel used for a $20 billion secondary offering days earlier.

On the business side, Intel reported Q2 revenue growth of 25% year over year, up from 7% in Q1, with margins rising to about 42%. The company also pointed to faster momentum in its AI segment, which grew 59%, and it said foundry revenue rose 31%.

Analysts cited in the coverage frame the outlook as a debate over what is driving results. Bulls point to Intel’s advanced packaging technology, EMIB, as a potential path to winning TPU orders from Google, while bears argue server revenue gains reflect higher average selling prices rather than unit volume growth.

The same article notes that Opendoor shares are down 42% year to date, even as CEO Kaz Nejatian bought 27,625 shares. The firm’s Q2 report missed on revenue and earnings, with GAAP loss per share worse than expected, adjusted EBITDA turning negative, and 2,339 homes sold during the quarter, well below 4,299 a year earlier. Management outlined forward plans tied to expanding licensing into more states, and bulls also cited reduced competition after Zillow exited iBuying in 2021.
