MANTRA token slides 18.5% to record low after chain halts

The token later recovered to about $0.0044, but remained down roughly 10% over 24 hours as network endpoints, validators, and bridge operations were frozen.

MANTRA’s native token fell 18.5% from its 24-hour high to a record low shortly before the MANTRA Chain stopped producing blocks, after the team announced a precautionary halt over an unexplained incident, according to Cointelegraph.

CoinGecko data cited by Cointelegraph showed MANTRA dropping from $0.005060 to an all-time low of $0.004126 around 11:00 pm UTC on Thursday, then rebounding to about $0.0044. Even after the rebound, the token was still down about 10% over the past 24 hours, while trading volume rose nearly 600% to $24 million.

MANTRA said it was aware of an incident affecting the chain and paused the network while investigating, stating it did not yet have a root cause or timeline to share. The project said all endpoints and transactions were frozen, and it would not restart until it was confident the network was safe.

The halt is preventing assets from moving on MANTRA Chain and has led affected exchanges to pause deposits and withdrawals, with no restart timeline provided. Cointelegraph reported the status page classified the incident as a full outage affecting public endpoints, validators, bridge migration operations, and MANTRA-managed Inter-Blockchain Communication relays, with the public RPC listing block 17,449,398 as the latest produced block.
