Apple’s Black Friday promo offers gift cards instead of price cuts
The deal runs from Black Friday through Cyber Monday and emails eligible shoppers a credit that can only be used on a future Apple purchase.
Benzinga reports that Apple’s annual Black Friday event is not a traditional discount sale. Instead of lowering prices, eligible purchases trigger an Apple Gift Card, with the credit amount scaling based on how much shoppers spend.
The promotion runs from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, a four-day period covering the busiest stretch of holiday shopping. Benzinga says the gift card is delivered automatically by email for qualifying devices, with no coupon code to enter at checkout.
According to the article, the credit cannot reduce the price a shopper pays at checkout, and it can only be spent on a future Apple purchase. Apple also applies a processing quirk by charging and then refunding the gift card as a separate line item, so returns do not allow shoppers to keep both the product and the credit.
Benzinga notes that gift card tiers from the 2025 promotion offer a preview of what to expect. Macs earned the largest credits, topping out at $250 for the high-end MacBook Pro, with iPads around $100 and eligible iPhones topping out near $75, while accessories such as AirPods and select Beats products generally fell in the $25 to $75 range.
