Gilbane and Purdue Fort Wayne open 600-bed student housing complex
The 213,000-square-foot, four-story project includes 601 beds, with about half reserved for Purdue Fort Wayne contracted students and the rest leased by other colleges’ students.
Gilbane and Purdue University Fort Wayne held a ribbon-cutting for Trace, a student housing complex developed as a public-private partnership on the school’s North Campus.
Located at 5104 Meeks Drive near Ginsberg Hall, the four-story, 213,000-square-foot apartment complex provides 601 beds across 176 units, ranging from studios to four-bedroom layouts.
ConnectCRE reports that nearly half of the beds are reserved for university-contracted students, while the remaining units will be available to students enrolled at other colleges and universities, who will lease directly with the complex.
The project team includes Gilbane as developer and construction manager, AVB as design-builder, and Progressive AE as architect, with ownership by Strategic Facility Partners and operations handled by Inwood Management, according to ConnectCRE.
