H World shares jump after $2.5 billion return plan and higher 2026 outlook
The company increased its 2026 revenue-growth forecast to 4% to 8% and reported second-quarter revenue of RMB7.1 billion, up 10.8%.
H World Group Limited (NASDAQ: HTHT) surged 11.3% to $46.61 on August 17 after posting second-quarter results that the company said included continued growth, a higher outlook, and an aggressive capital-return program. The group reported hotel turnover rising 13.2% to RMB30.5 billion and revenue up 10.8% to RMB7.1 billion. H World also raised its 2026 revenue-growth forecast to 4% to 8% from 2% to 6% and authorized up to $2.5 billion of dividends and repurchases over the next three years. As of June 30, H World operated 13,539 hotels with 1.34 million rooms and had 3,089 unopened hotels in its pipeline. The company opened 498 hotels and closed 176 during the quarter, with only one opening leased and owned, and it said 93% of rooms are operated under managed and franchised, asset-light models. On cash and profitability, H World reported RMB14.2 billion, or $2.1 billion, in cash and equivalents against RMB4.2 billion of debt, with net cash of RMB10.2 billion including RMB142 million of restricted cash. Second-quarter operating cash inflow was RMB3.4 billion, and operating margin widened to 31.1% from 27.8%, alongside a 20.0% year-over-year rise in non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA to RMB2.7 billion, according to Yahoo Finance.
