The Buckle reports 9.5% women’s business growth in Q2 2026

Merchandise margins rose 110 basis points, helped by 65 basis points of one-time tariff refunds, while the company planned five new stores and four remodels in the second half.

Yahoo Finance reports that The Buckle’s Q2 2026 performance was anchored by its women’s business, which grew 9.5% on top of high prior-year comparisons. The company said the gain was driven by a shift toward wider leg silhouettes and alternative pant categories.

The outlet also reported that merchandise margins expanded by 110 basis points. Of that improvement, 65 basis points came from one-time tariff refunds, including 45 basis points attributed to underlying improvement tied to strong regular-price selling and reduced markdowns.

The Buckle said its inventory was $161 million, up 13.3% year over year, and that operating margins faced pressure from a deliberate 45 basis point increase in marketing spend to support long-term guest acquisition and brand momentum. The company plans to open five additional stores and complete four full remodels in the second half, continuing its shift toward outdoor shopping centers, according to Yahoo Finance.
