ZK International still can’t monetize AWA tokens after $20.02M receivable
The company reported it held just $82,696 in cash and cash equivalents at March 31, while 205,512.5 AWA tokens received on July 30 remained unmonetized with receipt-date fair value unresolved.
ZK International said it received 205,512.5 AWA tokens on July 30 to settle a $20.02 million equity-financing receivable, but the tokens were still unmonetized and the receipt-date fair value was unresolved in its August 21 filing, according to CryptoSlate.
The filing highlighted ongoing going-concern doubt tied to management’s view that turning accounting assets into usable liquidity remained uncertain. As of March 31, the company’s continuing operations held $82,696 in cash and cash equivalents, about 0.12% of $66.44 million in total assets.
CryptoSlate also reported that management’s update distinguished the AWA balance from immediately available liquidity, noting the token receivable came from financing rather than operating revenue. The company said the AWA settlement arose from a February 27 private placement that issued shares with the ability to pay in dollars or cryptocurrency at the company’s discretion.
ZK International said the AWA tokens were not listed on any major crypto exchange and that deposits and withdrawals were frequently suspended. It had not sold, transferred, or otherwise monetized the tokens as of the statements, and it could not yet determine whether the tokens’ receipt-date fair value matched the $20.02 million carrying amount.
