AM Best assigns A- rating to InEvo Re with stable outlook

The rating reflects InEvo Re's very strong balance sheet and AM Best expects near-term profitability as it builds a scalable platform for longer-dated reinsurance.

AM Best has assigned InEvo Re a Financial Strength Rating of A- (Excellent) and a Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of a- (Excellent), with a stable outlook, according to Reinsurance News.

The agency said the ratings reflect the Bermuda-based specialist life reinsurer’s very strong balance sheet strength, adequate operating performance, limited business profile, and appropriate enterprise risk management, supported by capital from its parent.

InEvo Re, launched in early 2025, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Macquarie Group and is a Class E Bermuda regulated reinsurer purpose built for asset-intensive reinsurance, aimed at helping life insurers de-risk long-dated liabilities such as pension risk transfer.

AM Best also pointed to InEvo Re’s risk-adjusted capital position, citing Best’s Capital Adequacy Ratio, and said it expects the reinsurer to achieve near-term profitability with prudent expense management as its deal-by-deal, investment-driven business scales.
